Travel LifeHacks from Mr.Tripster
Since I travel a lot around the world, I decided to write for you useful tips that I myself use in my travels. Use and save your time and money when traveling!
- Short connections from flight to flight are best made in the early morning. They are rarely delayed. This is because morning planes usually spend the night at the airport and are already waiting for a new flight.
- Please note that some airlines (Lufthansa, Air France, etc.) do not give miles on basic business class fares. This is especially painful when you save them for long flights
- I don’t buy tickets with miles because it’s rarely profitable, but you can upgrade to business class with miles. I note that often not all economy fares allow upgrades with miles. It’s mostly for money.
- Istanbul airport is very convenient for connections — all the gates are in one terminal. But nevertheless, I do not recommend connections of less than 2 hours. You will either have to run a long distance through the whole airport or you will miss your flight. Turkish Airlines — they are late all the time. Checked personally.
- Baggage is often lost, especially on transit flights. Buy your own insurance for lost and delayed luggage. Getting 300-500 dollars for stress is quite nice.
- If your flight is delayed, canceled or denied boarding, you can receive compensation of up to €600 from the airlines. You can apply free of charge through a special service.
- Put yourself on notifications when prices drop for your favorite destinations. It is often possible to fly halfway around the world for a great deal, even in business class!
- The most profitable days for flights are Tuesday and Saturday. These are also the days with the least queues at airports.
